1. GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INTO PRE-NCE
- 1.SSCE/NECO with a minimum of two credits and three passes at one sitting.
- 2. SSCE/NECO with a minimum of three credits and two passes at two sittings.
- 3. TCII with a minimum of two credits at one sitting.
- 4. TCII with a minimum of three credits/merits and two passes at two sittings.
- 5. Some courses require a pass in English Language and/or mathematics.
2. GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INTO NCE 1
A Senior School Certificate (SSC) NECO or G.C.E. ‘’O’’ Level with passes in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics, three of which must be at credit level at the same sitting or four credits at two sittings. Two of the credits must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer, Credits in English and/or Mathematics may be required in some courses to meet the Departmental requirements.
- 1. A Grade II Teacher’s Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit in three subjects, two of which must be relevant to the course the candidate wishes to offer,
Credit/Merit in English Language and/or Mathematics may be a requirement in some courses. - 2. Teachers Grade II Certificate with at least (5) years post qualification teaching experience with or without the number of credits/merits in at least
four subjects are acceptable qualification. - 3. For candidates wishing to offer courses in Vocational and Technical Education R.S.A. or City and Guilds/Intermediate Certificate or the Federal Craft
Training Certificate or the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) with credit/merit in at least four subjects are acceptable qualifications. - 4. Successful candidates in the Pre-NCE final examinations who in addition take and succeed in a selection examination organized by an accredited body would
also be qualified for admission. - 5. All candidates wishing to be considered for admission must enroll for and write the selection organized by an accredited body such as JAMB. It should be noted
that some college may be, in addition to all of the above, administer their own elimination tests and or interviews for some courses. This is legitimate.
3. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
A student must earn a total minimum of 126 credits to graduate. These credits are distributed as follows:
Credit Structure
- 1. The General Education course is compulsory for all registered students
- 2. All registered students must submit a supervised project before graduation. The project may be written before graduation. (This is without prejudice to long essays or seminar papers that may be required by some departments or in some subject areas).
- 3. Teaching practice is compulsory for all students and it must last for minimum of twelve weeks.
- 4. Successful candidates in the Pre-NCE final examinations who in addition take and succeed in a selection examination organized by an accredited body would
also be qualified for admission. - 5. All registered students must enroll for and pass a minimum of three general studies courses before graduation. Of the three, English and Communication skills and Nigerian Studies are compulsory for all.
